    Young children learn about weather first-hand as well as through reading stories about children in various climates. Point out what children wear in the illustrations. Discuss why.

    Offer plenty of dress-up props for pretend play. Talk with children about matching clothing, weather, and activities (skis, swim suits, gowns, boots). Establish an e-mail partnership with a classroom in a different climate. What are children there wearing
