School Fair Cakewalk

  What are your favorite school fair or carnival games? Use Crayola® Colored Pencils to make a list of these activities. As a group, decide which ones to include after you get permission to hold a school carnival. One activity you might include is a cakewalk, which is described here. Make sketches of each booth or game.

  Plan all the details for the carnival. Decide on carnival committees such as tickets, prizes, a cleanup crew, and other groups. Use Crayola Markers to design posters to advertise your event. Draw tickets for the activities. If school rules allow, decide how to spend any profits from the carnival.

  Use the paint roller and Crayola So Big Brush in the kit to paint your cakewalk and other booths. A cakewalk is a circle marked with evenly spaced sections large enough for people to walk on. Each section contains either a number or a picture. Draw pictures that illustrate your carnival’s theme.

  Air-dry the paint completely. Paints wash from skin with soap and water. Normal laundering procedures remove stains from most cotton, polyester, acrylic fabrics, and their blends. For best results, wash immediately in hot water. Do not use pre-wash produc

  Ask the cleanup crew to remove the paint within 2 weeks. Wash surface with the water pressure from a garden hose. Light brushing with a broom or nylon brush may be necessary to remove some paint.
