Crayola’s Paint Maker went home with the People’s Choice award!

A robotic dinosaur that can be trained to sit, speak and react to commands has been named the Toy of the Year at the North American Toy Fair.

Spin Master’s Zoomer Dino took home the highly coveted award at the 15thAnnual Toy of the Year Awards in New York.

The toy was also named as the Boy Toy of the Year, while Crayola’s Paint Maker – a customizable art and crafts kit – went home with the People’s choice award as well as Activity toy of the Year.

Hosted by the US Toy Industry Association in support of the Toy Industry Foundation, the awards ceremony championed the hottest products acros 12 categories at the event held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

“From artistic toys that promote creativity to awe-inspiring tech toys, this year’s TOTY winners have provided children with countless hours of magic, discovery and learning,” said Carter Keithley, TIA president and CEO.

“We congratulate Spin Master, Crayola and the winners across all 12 categories for their achievements, and for their commitment to providing children with enriching experiences through play.”

The winners across the 12 categories at the 2015 Toy of the Year Awards, are:

Activity Toy of the Year – Crayola Paint Maker (Crayola)

Boy Toy of the Year – Zoomer Dino (Spin Master)

e-Connected Toy of the Year – LEGO Fusion (LEGO Systems)

Educational Toy of the Year – LEGO Technic (LEGO Systems)

Game of the Year – Simon Swipe (Hasbro)

Girl Toy of the Year – Shopkins Small Mart Playset (Moose Toys)

Infant/Toddler Toy of the Year – Go Go Smart Animals Zoo Explorers Playset (VTech)

Innovative Toy of the Year – MiP (WowWee)

Outdoor Toy of the Year – Nerf Rebelle Dolphina Bow (Hasbro)

Preschool Toy of the Year – LEGO Juniors (LEGO Systems)

Property of the Year – Disney’s Frozen (The Walt Disney Company)

Speciality Toy of the Year – Gravity Maze (ThinkFun)

The event also welcomed the induction of two individuals in to the toy Industry Hall of Fame: Pat Feely, former chairman, Toy Industry Foundation and retired CEO of Radica Games, and Leslie Berger, founder, Cardinal Industries.
